We spent the last weekend in Utah for my brother's wedding. Ethan loved the plane, but Annalisa had a rough time. Probably because I followed the worst advice ever...I tried to nurse her as we were taking off so that her ears would adjust with the swallowing. She wouldn't latch on and so her ears hurt and she was starving. She has never cried that hard in her life. On the flight back, I fed her right before and gave her some Tylenol. She did great! I think that's the way to go from now on... It was so great to see family and even get to go to a BYU game (even though they lost horribly:-( I don't have any pictures just yet, but I will post some soon.
Also, I read this short article that explains so well how I feel about big government...if any of you were feeling political today:-)

I am so sorry if I was the giver of the worst advice ever.... That strategy has always worked great for us, and B has been on about half a dozen airplane rides, from ages 6 months through our trip in August. I should have made it clear that because we feed on demand, he wasn't necessarily super-hungry when we got on the plane; he has always been happy to nurse at almost any time, even if he's recently eaten. I guess that it makes a big difference if your little one is on a strict feeding schedule. Anyway, I'm so glad that you found something that works for you. I guess that I wouldn't be able to give Tylenol right before a plane ride, since my little man can't take Tylenol.
